After years of working in Montgomery County Public Schools, Dawn left in 2010 to fulfill her goal of becoming a lactation consultant. She met and began working with Kathy, and they forged a student-teacher relationship that has developed into a personal friendship. Dawn completed her coursework, clinical hours, and training, under the professional guidance of Kathy, and is now a board-certified lactation consultant (IBCLC). This is something that Dawn had wanted to do since becoming a first time mother herself. She and her daughter needed the services of a lactation consultant, and it was a life-changing moment.
Dawn came out of the visit telling her husband, “That woman was an angel, and I want to be an angel one day.” Dawn and her husband now have 3 daughters (plus a few exchange students they’ve hosted over the years who have become like daughters); her family is her biggest joy in life.
